Here we offer some simple tips to help you maintain your vehicle, get better gas mileage, and get the most from your car, truck, or SUV.

This month's tips are related to getting ready for the summer travel season.  If you're going to pack up the car for a family vacation, these simple tips can save you from learning a tough lesson. 

1.    Oil change/level check - Get your oil changed prior to leaving and ensure the oil is at the proper  level.  Nothing worse than burning up your engine during your vacation.

2.    Tire inflation check - Check your tires for sufficient tread and make sure your tires are inflated to the proper level.  By doing so, you'll get the most out of your fuel efficiency.

3.    Battery - Make sure your battery is going to be reliable and not fail you on your trip.

4.    Wipers/Washer fluid - Make sure your wipers won't streak when you need them.  Top off your washer fluid to clean off the bugs while you're driving on your vacation.

5.    Jumper cables - Pack some jumper cables.  Just in case you need them.

6.    Tools - Pack a basic tool kit in case you need to make a simple repair on the road.

7.    Emergency funds - Carry a credit card that you can use in case a major repair is needed on the road.

8.    Motor Club - There are many motor clubs like AAA that can be a lifesaver on a long trip.
